So when we open one of our fridges (it's a mini-fridge) it releases this HORRIBLE odor. But it only happens when the door is open, and it comes and goes (it will smell for a week and then be fine for two weeks, then smell again). We have thoroughly cleaned and defrosted the fridge, none of the food in there is rotting. This has been going on for 6 months, so any sort of animal stuck in there should've been long since decayed (we don't think this is the case anyway since it only smelled when the door was open). What could be creating this smell? It's really ghastly and instantly fills the whole room with stink when the door is opened.
