MyFaves Questions

I went to a T-Mobile store in the local mall and asked if MyFaves costed extra a month and the lady told me no.. does it or doesn't it cost anything?
If it does cost, is it even worth having? I thought it was STUPID that T-Mobile charges like 7 extra bucks a month for unlimited mobile to mobile, for like every other carrier it's just custom. I think that was the biggest drawback for me, from switching from Sprint to T-Mobile..

Input anyone? =D

MyFavs is actually the plan. So you probably have a Get More plan, or some other plan. So it doesn't cost you anymore, since you will have to alter you service plan.

It's worth it if you talk a lot on the phone to 5 different people. It depends on your usage. I myself don't talk on the phone very often and use data and SMS, so the blackberry minutes and mail plans work better for me.

For the most part TMO has better rates than the other companies. Hope that helps.

Spuffy,

If you wish to do your own homework you can actually download your usage into excel from your myTmobile web page. From what I have seen myfaves plans cost about $10 more than a standard plan with the same # of minutes but it follows that if you are using the my faves then you need less minutes....I took my family from sprint where they were using over 2000 minutes regularly and on a tmobile my faves we use less than half that and spend about 30% less monthly.

EDITED - I stand corrected - thanks guys!
Next time I check B4 I post

I am thinking of switching to the T-Mo My Faves 300 Minutes today after I pay my bill. I have 5 numbers I call often (my mom's cell phone, 2 house phones, 1 friend and my brother). Right now with the BB, I am paying $91/mo for the BB, Unlimited Text, 600 Get More Minutes, Equipment Protetion.

I am switching to my SK3 today and that Data plan is $20/month, plus the 300 MyFaves Minutes, and MyFaves Unlimited Messaging for pic messaging. I just noticed that the MyFaves requires a contract extension. I wonder if I could get new equpment with this if I changed to it.

Erica

Are you under one year on your contract? I have always read that TMO only requires an extension to contracts with less than a year remaining....

I logged onto my MyTMobile account and this is what I saw when I went to look at new minutes packages:

"*myFaves 300 Whenever-300 Night/Weekend Minutes Unlimited Weekends MyFaves
Minutes Unlimited M to M N/A $39.99 (promotional plan)

myFaves300 Whenever-Unlimited Night/Weekend Minutes Unlimited Weekends
MyFaves Minutes Unlimited M to M N/A $39.99

*Promotional plan will require a contract extension.
If you select a promotional plan you will not be able to make further changes to your plan online until after it has taken effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If you require further assistance, please call Customer Care at 1-800-937-8997 or 611 from your mobile phone."

To answer your question, I extended my contract back in March to get the SK3. It looks like I get to extend it again if I go for the promo plan.

in all actuality it's about 10$ more for a myfaves plan, normally for 39.99$ you get 600 whenever minutes with nights and weekends
on the myfavs plans for the same 600 minutes it's 49.99$ you get 600 minutes nights and weekends and unlimited calling to 5 numbers on any network. so lets say you are on a 1500 minute plan but with myfavs you are using next to no minutes you could drop your plan all the way down to the 300 minute myfavs plan. it all depends on usage. i have a co-worker who is on myfavs and one of her contacts she spent 10,000 minutes to one of her contacts.

With my Faves it only charges ten dollars more a month...ei...if you have a 600 mins pln that is $39.99 (no my faves)...you can upgrade to the 600 mins my faves pln for $49.99. It helps bc you have those five people you can talk to for free...anytime. As for Sprint their plans are soooo expensive...that doesn't make sense...but my faves is cool and you can customize them

This sounds like it would fit me. I may drop down to the 300 Minute Plan then cause I use less than 100 minutes per month (I text, IM and email more than I talk).

I got lucky to catch the myfave promotion, I signed up for $39.99 myfave, $9 unlimited text and mms, $19.99 unlimited data.

I added @home service yesterday

have a great BB plan and just addded the H@H for the future...now i just need to get Fav5s added to my phone and i'll be set...btw i only have the 300 minute plan which i barely touch (M to M rules) and you gotta love the unlimited data

guess my real question is...I should just add my Fav5s to my current plan instead of starting a new one right?

If you are not using your minutes now is there a reason you want to add the Myfaves as this time? I don't beleive there is any promo that is about to end for individual myfaves?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~the only advantage to doing that is that you can then add unlimited messaging for 9.99$ on a myfavs plan.
