About three years ago I was "asked" by a "BREEDER".. if I would like to "have" a little yorkie.. LOVING Yorkie and having two already.. I agreed... when I picked up this little dog.. she was very "different" to say the least.. the "breeder" said, she had been adopted by several people only to be returned each time and now she was almost a year and a half and needed to be in a "stable home. . well, I began noticing her behaviors very closely.. she would Rock back and forth... constantly. then, when you tried to pick her up to cuddle her of give her cuddles..she would push against my chest with her two front paws.. push and pull close to me.. then push away... and her head would rock wildly from my right cheek to the left.. she "WANTED TO BE LOVED SO BADLY"... but, she just couldn't seem to relax . she also would sit in the middle of a room and almost "blindly" stare at "nothing" for long minutes. she has a difficult time running in straight lines... as she always kind of tries to "get around things"... and if she gets stressed "at all"..... she goes into a grand mall seizure and its Heartbreaking!. My "first" yorkie, was epileptic. so, I am totally aware of what is going on there... I have had her vet checked, many times, and the vet also is tending to think "autism" is a very "real" and plausible answer. I know, that she is Absolutely the sweetest and most loving little girl yorkie and she "over the past three years" has been given a very "calm" surrounding in my home and she has really made HUGE improvement's! the rocking has all but diminished. but, she still cowers and gets really upset and fearful anytime my voice is raised for any reason... "even if It had NOTHING to do with her"... she plays and interacts with my other two Yorkie's well, but, they DO treat her as the OMEGA. and sometimes will get a bit pushy with her. "of course, I do not allow them to do this and I have trained them over time to stop that type of behavior toward her".. NO AGGRESSION! whatsoever..!. she packs toys constantly.. and no matter what.. when ever I start to talk to her or show her attention.. off she goes and grabs a toy and brings it to me as a "present" for loving her.. shes amazing! .. what I really do care about is this adorable Little dog that has Truly "won" my love and totally devotion. she for the most part, is a fairly "normal" acting dog.. but, she does have "very" "unique and obvious" "autistic" behaviors or what I would describe to be like "Asburgers Syndrome". which is like autism with the ability to "function" more normally then full blown Autistic patients suffer through.. she does seizure whenever she gets stressed... so, I keep life at my house VERY CALM and QUIET and PRIVATE.. she has really Opened up and become MUCH MORE NORMAL acting most of the time.. but, she does still rock and stare and have a very difficult time being "touched" sometimes... it's "not" just a PERSONALITY disorder! Im telling ya. Im the one that see's it on a day to day basis and I have a LOT OF EXPERIENCE WITH ANIMALS! as, I am a pet sitter. this little yorkie has .... to the best of what I have learned from medical specialists as well as VARIOUS VETERINARIANS.. they "all" con-cure... it DOES LOOK,ACT, and COMPLETELY FILL ALL THE CHECKPOINTS for AUTISM....... now... does anyone out there have animals that "might" have this condition too? I am feeding her very high quality foods and making sure she stays calm and happy as much of the time as possible. her behavior has improved drastically... . but, if there is something that I could be doing with herbs, or foods, or anything... that could help.. I am TOTALLY interested if finding "methods" that could help her even more... she deserves to be given
the BEST forms of treatment that she can get to have the best results with her "disability"! can anyone out there help?
