NOT CONNECTED? I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. I have talked to Dell and it is a $69.00 question I would rather not ask them. In the bottom right hand corner (next to the time or volume) is the icon that tells you when you are connected. I have noticed in the last few days that it tells me that I am not connected when I am clearly surfing the internet. If I hover over the icon it still says that I am not connected. If I open all available networks it tells me I AM connected.

Please Help! I can't spend $69.00 on a dumb questions. Thank you!!

It is when I am connected to my home wireless. It has never given me problems before this week and there have been no problems with other laptops. It is a secure connection that I have the password for.

I'm betting that you somehow switched from using the WiFi management software for your specific chip set to the Windows default WiFi manager.

You'll have to go into the configuration for the Wireless network connection and set it not to use the default Windows wireless management.

do you have a usb wireless lan card, re-install it but its very important you must unplug it first then plug it back in when your prompt to do so when your running the installation cd
