My windows XP media center edition 2005 wont install right?

I was having problems with my computer so i wanted to do a system restore with the disk my computer came with and when the xp was done and it restarts it says that "windows could now start because the following file was missing or corrupt:
<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
please re-install a copy of the above file"

how to i do solve this problem please help.
