My wii controller wont synce. And the games won't read..?

My wii controller wont synce. The remote is not brand new. I have tryed doing the whole pushing the red button on both the controller and the system and it still doesnt work

also when i go to play a game it says 'disk error please refer to manual' i have whipped the disk off and everything, but it does the same thing with every single game i put in..

please help me with these two problems
