My TX soft resets after a sync, and also something is wrong with media sync.

When I sync my TX, it soft resets. Also, I deleted a movie from my palm, but everytime I sync and error comes up about the movie. What is going on? Here is my log:

Hi xxBloodbathxx,

Not sure about the media files, but I'm having the same problem of my palm soft resetting as soon as I do a hotsync. Could you please explain how you sorted it out?

Best regards,

Rangi

Hey there xxBloodbathxx.

Good on ya for posting your Hotsync Log, it definitely helps a lot. I think your problem here is that you are trying to sync a ASF Video File onto you Palm, which if I remember correctly, it does not natively support (the Hotsync Software is very pendantic about what files it will allow to be synced - .asf files may be one that it doesn't like). I think your best bet would be to load the video file onto an SD Card (using an SD Card Reader/Writer) and then placing that into your Palm Device (assuming you have a Palm that has an expansion slot). And also, what Media Player are you using to watch videos on the Palm? TCMP is by far the most versatile, but even with that, I'm not sure it supports asf files ... can anyone confirm this?

Actually, first things first, before you load via the SD Card, go to Palm Desktop, select the Media area and remove that 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Aazkaban [ENG] [DVDrip] [FS] CD2.asf' file, and then do a Hotsync. If all goes well, then you know that nothing else is wrong. After this, try the SD Card method ... that's how I watch videos on my T|X ... SD Card Readers are cheap as chips anyway (check out eBay).

Let us know how it goes ...

If you still are still getting those protocol errors even after you have taken out the Harry Potter movie from your sync queue, then you might need to consider backing up all the files in your Palm directory, and then reinstalling the Palm Desktop/Hotsync Software ... maybe it's corrupted somehow. But, I don't think you'll get the protocol error anymore after you've taken that ASF file out of the queue ...
