My twin 5-1/2 yr. olds have had RSV for over 7 weeks. WHEN will this vicious cycle end?

Hi -

I am a mother to boy/girl 5-1/2 year old twins. My kids were micro-preemies when born. During the winter season of the first yr. of their life they had synagist injections once a month in order to minimize any symptoms IF getting RSV...so I know a bit about the virus...This is what I REALLY need help with:

The kids were FINALLY diagnosed with this 2 weeks ago. At first I thought it was just a bad cold - then when they lost their appetite, I took them to the Doctor right away...(they NEVER have had a fever). Our Pedi checked them for EVERYTHING under the sun and came up positive for RSV. He said that we just needed to push fluids, cold meds if needed - lots of rest, etc.

The kids are active yet yesterday and today, (Christmas Eve and Day) - they were acting so strange...(maybe just overwhelmed because they received so many gifts from family members). They were quiet and did not eat much. Their coughs are MUCH better and their runny noses are also a heck of a lot better...(just when we thought we were getting better....(husband and myself have been sick this whole time too)...

My brother and sister in law were sick yesterday with horrible colds....(they have not seen the kids while they have been sick so they did not catch this from them).
Today I woke up feeling the worst I have felt in so many weeks. My nose is starting to drip again, body aches and just overall tired and groggy.

WHENNNNNNNNNNNNNNn will this vicious cycle possibly end??? Are we just passing this back and forth to one another??? I REALLY want to take an antibiotic being as my throat is now hurting YET i know that antibiotics don't help with this virus...
WHAT can we do??? Its as if we are NEVER going to get rid of this. I was really hoping that during the kids school break that we would all get better....but now I really don't have much hope. Did we just get even sicker from being around my in laws??
Any suggestions/feedback so appreciated...Thanks for listening...gotta grab a tissue box now...
