My turtle beach x3 headset has no sound.?

Okay, so please help me out. Everything on the headset is perfectly set up and I have had it for a couple months now. Lately, it will work, then not work. I can not hear myself talk, nether head the game sound. I just put in fresh batteries, and the red light flashes roughly every second. I need to talk to my friends!Please help
