...tractor and would it work? I love Cummins engines, and i had found a good deal on the engine itself... I am asking if i would be able to swap my motor out for that cummins and have it drive the truck well... will it?
 
This doesn't answer your whole question, but remember the front end of the Dodge 2500 is beefed up to handle the weight of the Cummins. My 5.9l weighs around 1175lbs. Something to consider.
