My Touch 4G vs Motorola Defy

Trying to pick between these 2 phones. Upgrading from a Nokia E51. I want to hear your thoughts - here are some quick ones of mine:

Motorola Defy:
- I like that its small, I got used to the E51 being able to be in my dress pants and not even know its there.
- Can have in your pocket with keys, change, whatever and no worries about scratching.
- Not sure if I am going to like MotoBlur
- Nice Price

My Touch 4G
- Even though I like the small of the Defy, this is not too much bigger, nice size.
- Fantastic well-made feel of the device.
- I hear battery life is not the greatest.
- Kinda expensive.

So what are your thoughts..?
 
You already made your homework. Its bang for the buck vs. the biggest bang.

Plus your post didn't say, but your CP does, that you already have an EVO. That may add a certain perspective to your decision.
 
This the main question are you planning to keep this phone for more than 1 year? are you rough with your phones? then moto defy would be a good choice. If your like me Im really careful with your phones have a case all the time and your a phone fanatic and kind of a phone geek get the mytouch4g running 2.2. No matter how you look at it I think moto defy still the smart choice in every aspect even tough its running 2.1. but you wont have to worry about been to careful with the moto defy.
 
I went to buy a MT4G, but the Defy also caught my eye. Simple form factor, nice size, cheaper price... So I ended up getting a MT4G but I think the Defy is a good option. If I can find a cheap one, I'd prob pick one up as well.
 
Always determine what kind of person you are then pick a phone that suits your personality.

In this case, a power phone user or tech or Android geek would be better off with the MT4G. Someone just interested in texting, calling, making Facebook updates once in a while, can be better off with the Defy.
 
I currently carry a Motorola Cliq XT and will be getting a new phone today or tomorrow -- I am a power FB user and MotoBlur is the BOMBDIGITY does anyone here know if there is an Android app/widget that works the same way ("window" that I can "page" through everyone's status updates)? I did look at both phones today and the Defy was not set up, could not get to the camera - that is important as I do take loads of pics as well.
 
Wow, you're in the right carrier for that one. The answer is the MyTouch 3G. HTC Sense has a widget called Friend Stream that comes with the phone and will let you view and respond your Facebook news streams and sync Facebook to your contacts. I don't know about Motoblur since I never had the chance to experiment, but it is also highly social oriented as well. Other phones have something similar. In the Samsung Vibrant or Vibrant 4G, there is also something called Feeds and Updates that work similarly to the HTC Friend Stream and also comes with the phone. Though in my experience, Friend Stream is the gold standard here.

Facebook for Android does have its own homescreen widget.
