Harper Moran is an average 16 year old, living an average 16 year old's life. Her and her mother move from time to time, because of the boyfriend's her mother meets, then dumps, forcing them to move all over again.
Now adjusting to the small, quaint town of Rockaway Beach, Oregon, Harper meets Benjamin Riley. His gorgeous looks draw Harper in, wanting to know him more. But with every attempt, she seems to push him further.
Finally, after weeks of his trying to ignore Harper, he tells her the truth. A truth of Harper's mother's past and secret life. A truth that must ultimately seperate Ben's family from Harper's. A prophecy.
With the passing days, comes explanation from Ben and Harper's mother.
With every moment spent between Harper and Ben, comes a deeper attraction. One in which they both cannot deny.
*okay...the prophecy is that the world is ending. Harper's mother has been wanting to escape this cult for so long. But every generation before her has been involved. Harper, coincidently, happens to be the only child in the cult. Now that the cult predicts the world coming to an end, a child is needed for the sacrifice. A sacrifice that will save the earth.*
