My Sprint contract will be up soon and I want an iPhone -should I switch carriers?

I have an HTC Hero and it's painfully *slow (note: I'm not that tech savvy, but I do know to check for updates, and I also don't have much on the phone at all, tons of free space). How can I tell if speeds would be better, if I just wait and switch to Verizon or AT&T?

*it's slow when I hang up from a call (I'll hit "end" a couple times and by the time the phone catches up with me, it thinks I'm redialing and calls the person back), it's slow connecting to the internet... just seems slow all around.

Aloha! If you want an iPhone, note that they do have iPhones at Sprint now, but if you want a faster reception go with Verizon Wireless. Good luck amigo!
