I have a one year old Papillon who was spayed on Friday, she is nearly 5 pounds.
she was groggy Friday
Saturday we gave her her pain med, (metacam) and she was drowsy but drank and ate some
Sunday we gave her pain med, she was fine for a while, a bit more alert maybe but she had Diarrhea we gave her a little bit of pepto-bismal, she ate some
Monday no pain med because it was probably causing the Diarrhea, more pepto, Diarrhea is more lyquidy, didn't eat as much
Today (Tue) no pain meds again, she doesn't seem to be in any pain (and believe me she lets you know when she's in pain) still Diarrhea(like brown water), eating a little bit, gave her some anti-Diarrhea(loperamide hydrocloride)
then this evening she's thrown up a couple times and now won't eat, we're making her drink water(with caro sugar in it to keep up her blood sugar)
she's not drowsy more then usual(she was just drowsy fri and sat from the pain meds) and she's getting more then enough fluids, the medicine we gave her is vet approved, her stitches look really good and she was given a gas anesthesia because of her small size
she's been eating turkey and some of her dog food the last couple days, and a couple of saltine crackers
