My Sony VIAO Blu-ray drive does not read or write?

My Sony VGC-LT25E has a Matshita BD-MLT UJ225S-Drive. I have never used BD before but I bought a BD film and the computer does not reject the disk, however it does not play or show that a disk is in. It plays DVD's fine. The BD has a small finger print but I doubt this is the reason as some of the DVD's are scratched to the heavens and it plays fine. The computer clearly says 'Blu-Ray Disk read/write optical drive'. So why it isnt even reading is baffling me!

Anyone help!?
I have WIN BD if that is what you mean. And to the other guy why the hell do you bother replying? (the wahmbulance person) :-)
