my sony laptop touch pad just stops working...?

also, from time to time the key board stops working as well. When the keys stop working they make this strange beeping sound....

I bought the laptop about a year ago, so it has the newest windows program.

Yes I know Macs are great and I Could bring it back to where I bought it, spare me.

Any help is welcome!!!
