...not at home? Me,my husband, my son's dad and step-mom have been dealing with this issue since last year when he was in pre-k. Our little boy is so book-smart, top in his class, but his behavior makes it so hard on the teacher. He has switched schools and teachers from prek to k but we want it to stop. His teacher will be taking him to the principles office if he keeps it up. He makes himself sick so he can come home, he won't follow simple directions/rules, he makes rude/silly faces when you try talking to him ..... we've done time out, taking away things, military positions, reward system? I just don't know what to do anymore?!?!?!?!

Well, I would say most class clowns do so because of academic problems, but if you say he's book smart I guess not.

How about social smarts? Does he actually know how to be a student? (Kids who've never been in day-care or didn't have older siblings to play school with sometimes don't really grasp the whole "listen to the teacher" "do this, not that" concept)

How about other kids? Can he relate to them and them to him? If he's having trouble with the other kids it may explain why he'll try anything to get attention and get the hell out.

well ask the teacher if he can go up a level. kindergarten is too easy. he gets bored. small kids need challenges. maybe have him go up to first grade or work at home with him.
