My son is in the Army, almost finished with BCT (he's an E2), married, no children.?

After speaking with him today, I happened to ask him how many dependents he was claiming. He said he didn't know and doesn't remember filling out a W4. Does the Army automatically take out a certain amount of tax? I don't want him to owe any money next year. He doesn't get a paystub either. How do we find out? Thanks
 
He will be able to view his pay information on his LES (Leave & Earnings Statement) that is posted each month. Right now he doesnt have access to it but can set it up when he has finished BCT. It will list all the pay information included how many dependents he is claiming. If he wrote out the right paperwork then it will have him married w 1 dependent on his taxes.
