he didn't have anything on? him. He had gotten a ride back to dorm from another student and his friends, he didn't know them. Nor did he know they had pot on them. He didn't do an interview with them before getting in the car. When police pulled the car over in parking garage on campus, the boys told police the pot was theirs and that my son didn't know they had it. My son told police same thing. They were all questioned separate, and told same thing. Didn't matter to police, my son was arrested. He didn't want to do pretrial diversion and have record for something he didn't do. At pretrial DA was mad because my son refused to do that and ask for trial. My son's attorney (court appointed) obtained sign affidavits from the other three who took the pretrial diversion, and at court his charges were dropped, however he has to pay $500.00 court cost. I thought if your charges were dropped you didn't pay court cost. This seems very excessive also, does anyone know? What can we do? If anything.
He also was handcuffed and place in back of police car for an hour and questioned, all without having his rights read to him. This just doesn't seem right. This happened in TN.
