Ok, my sister is very judgemental of me. I have a lot of singers that I really like, mainly from like the 80s.
If I'm watching an interview or something on TV( this time I was watching Cyndi Lauper) and she was talking about something, and I openly agreed with her, because thats how I truely felt. My sister got all mad and said the only reason I say things is because my favorite singer does. That's not true. I had actually had that point of view before I even started listening to Cyndi Lauper's music. I tried explaining that, but she will just say "yeah, mhmm!" really sarcastically.
Then tonight, I was watching another interview with Cyndi Lauper, where she was talking about Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance". She pointed out she liked the fact that the "Rah rah rah ah ah" turned into the word Romance. My sister said she didn't notice that, and asked if I did, and I said yes, I already knew that. My sister said "YOU did NOT know that! You are only saying that you knew it because Cyndi Lauper knows it! Its really annoying how you only like something if your favorite artist of the month does!"
The thing is, it purely is coincidence that my favorite artists might have the same standpoints as me. I agree and disagree with some things they may say. It really bothers me because my sister just assumes "every month" when i find a different artist I like, that I become obsessed and change my mind to match theirs, which isn't true just a coincidence.
Help? Oh, and the only reason I watched Cyndi Lauper a lot recently is because her new album came out so shes doing interviews to promote it, and I wanted to see if she would say more about tour information.
What do I do? My sister won't accept me for how I truely feel about different subjects, claiming I only say it because someone I like does?
