CHANGE IS COMING!

Just a concern sister, it seems quite early to be dilating but the doctor is keeping a close eye on her. She also is having mild contractions. She said the baby is very low already. This will be her second child, her first pregnancy was full term. Im just curious.......

It is a bit early but, she can stay dilated to 2 for weeks and weeks, as long as the doc is keeping an eye on her she should be fine.

It is not normal, but if the baby was to come this early then he or she would have an excellent chance of survival with the proper medical care. My cousin's son came at about this time in her last pregnancy and he was in the NICU from Feb-April or May. He is now a happy, healthy 18 month old.

I'd say being dilated at 27 weeks isn't normal, and it could take weeks for the baby to come or a week at this point. In my birthing class they told us if you start dilating to soon there are ways of preventing a premature baby.I would also suggest for your sister to stay on bed rest 27 weeks is alittle early to be having the baby, the baby could survive but he would be icu for atleast a month if not more.

When I was 28 weeks with my first child I was having lots of pain. It was not contractions but the doctor said she could feel the babies head. he was way too low. She said without bed rest he would come way too early. She put me on bed rest until I was 35 weeks. She said I could move around then but still no shopping or anything like that. Since I had bed rest he moved up and I made it to 39 weeks. If i was her I would get a second opinion. I think she needs bed rest at the least or hospital stay if she is still contracting. She needs to demand it so she don't have her baby way to early. Good luck and I hope she makes to a safe week for the babies sake.
