My sidekick lx's screen suddenly blacks out, how do i fix it?

I just flipped it and, there! The screen stopped working.
I took of the battery and then put it back again.
Everything was fine, except that the screen was still black.
i tried clicking buttons and they were still working.
How could i fix this on my own?
I live in a country where there is no T-Mobile.
