My Sega Genesis displays a black screen when I turn it on?

My Sega Genesis displays a black screen when I turn it on. The power is on and it seems to work. However, when I turn it on, it gives me a black screen and that's it.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem or what is wrong? I am kind of annoyed as I love the system.
