My screen flashes a black screen randomly ever once in a while. What is wrong with my...

...comp? Its not the video card, it was doing it without the card installed, I have a case fan, temperatures are all normal. Sound still works fine while the black screen comes up. Does anyone have any other ideas on what could be causing this? Almost forgot, no viruses and all of the drivers are updated. Thank you!
No, I just checked the power save options and everything is off. I can be in the middle of typing or playing a game and it will do it. The refresh rate is also the same as the monitor and the same setting in all the games that I play.

turn off the pc,disconnect pc and monitor from wall.detach connection from monitor to pc.
examine the plug from monitor to pc,check if pins are not damaged check that connection is correct way round to pc.
turn on monitor not conected to pc should get no signal message
monitor on wiggle power lead to see if loose connection
turn off reconnect to pc double check connection,power on wiggle lead to check loose wire
