My Sanyo DP42851 3DTV is broken but still under warranty- can I get a refund?

I purchased a 42" Sanyo DP42851 2d-3d tv from Walmart 6 months ago (June 2012) and it completely stopped working last week. Its still under the 12 month warranty, but can I demand a refund? Or will they try and repair/ replace it first?
