My Saint Bernard is still breathing pretty heavy after a hike....??? Is this normal?

She's had plenty of water but it's been like 25-30 minutes since we've been back and her breathing isn't back to "normal."

I'm a new dog owner and just want to make sure this isn't abnormal?
She's not fat - she's not overweight.

How do I tell if my dog has a cold or the flu?
 
she's probably still hot and this is how they cool down. my german shepherd/malamute mix pants for quite some time after we get back from a long walk and the weather is warm. try hosing her off when you get back to help cool her off, and let her lay in a cool room with the a/c on.
