The dog has a history of nipping at people he doesn't know even when they are invited in the home or have been there a while. I made the mistake of yelling to my guest the door was open and as she entered, the dog bit her leg pretty good. My roommate and his wife are failing to take any responcibility for the issue because they said they left the dog in my care when they left for the night and I should have known better because they sometimes put the dog in their room when they have guests over. I was willing to take part of the blame but legally in Washington State, who is at fault? They own the house and I rent the extra bedroom, and they never specifically told me that I need to put the dog away when I have people over.
Jut to clarify, the dog is not mine, and they asked me to feed the dog that night, as I was already aware they would be out for the evening. But they never asked me to "watch" the dog. He's an edgy rescue golden retriever.
