We don't know many children we can expose him too but when he is around them he wants to attack. What's the proper way to discipline him in these instances?
He is only 4 months old and has not had a negative experience with a child yet. We had a 2 year old visiting who was very nice but our puppy snarled and barked in a mean way that I've never heard him do otherwise. I held him and tried to keep him calm and pulled on his collar when he reacted that way but he kept barking and snarling meaning when the child walked near. He's never reacted to anything like this before. Children he seeing outside the house have pet him and he's fine.
Thanks TK. He's wasn't from a shelter and was apparently around children before we got him but I will try your suggestion with the high value treat. The negative reaction you described is exactly what he does. He will have proper training classes come January. The difficult thing is to find children.
