Hey, So I recently got a Golden doodle (Andy) puppy about a week ago, he's about 11 weeks old, and very smart. He's already potty trained, already obeys simple commands like sit, paw, and no. He's teething a bit and he's currently in the process of being crate trained.
Anyways, Andy is having trouble eating his puppy chow out of his stainless steel bowl. He will drink out of his separate stainless steel bowl but refuse to eat out of it. He seems scared, he won't even go near it and he tenses up every time I bring it close to him. He won't even eat out of different bowls or even off of plates, I've tried, plastic, glass, and even paper plates. I assumed maybe he didn't like the chow, but he devoured it when I placed it in my hand. He strictly won't eat his food out of nothing, so I've been placing his food on the floor, which he's been eating , but I really don't want to continue with that habit, and I doubt he's afraid of the material of the bowl, because he drinks out of the other one fine. Anyone know what's going on and how to stop this?
Separate question: He is also having a bit of trouble with sleeping at night. I put him in the crate and he cries for about an hour before sleeping. He doesn't seem to like his crate very much. Any word on this or is this just one thing I have to stick it out with?
