My psp wont charge if i turn wi-fi on.?

I turn on my psp and i start playing my game. Soon the battery wears out so i put in the charger and it charges. But when i try to play multiplayer, it stops charging. I go on the internet and it stops charging. i restored to default settings and still nothing. Any help?
