My psp is super slow?

When I turn on my psp, it runs smoothly for a few seconds, then it stops and continues, only it runs slower than ever. when I try to go to a setting (ex: settings> theme settings), it freezes. My brother has a psp too, so I tested his psp, and it worked like mach 5. I even formatted my memory stick.
I'm thinking it's a virus. What's wrong?
