my ps3 will read my 1gb flash drive but not my 8gb?

I have reformatted the 8gb flash to fat32 and it just doesnt come up at all on the ps3, but my 1gb does. I called playstation and all she told me was its probably just the flash drive try another one. Well my computer reads it so I dont see why it could be that.Is there anything else to try or that it could be.
its a PNY ATTACHE flash, i didnt know its not compatible with certain brands??
