My ps3 problem I just had V. Hdmi vs AVcables

Here is the deal I pluged mu ps3 stright to HDMI and got it all set up. However now I took it to a buddies house and low and behold the av cables did not work for shit on his tv. Its the first time I used it but my only guess is that the system is set to only be used on HDMI and I have to go back to my tv and hdmi cable to manualy change it to use AV cables. Anyone else think this might be the problem?

yes that is this problem I had the same problem when i hooked up to my friends 1080p TV then took it back to my house and plugged it into my 720p i couldnt see anything. One fix for this is adding a new user and changing that users setting to work from A/V cables but then you would have to start it up and keep hitting left (with a blank screen) then up or down to switch between the users.

I had the same problem when I took it to my dads and connected via composite (I use component at home).

To fix it, just hold down the power button and it will auto configure itself.

I think there are HDMI versions on the TVs. Older ones don't work with the newer version HDMI or something like that.

HDMI 1.3 is the latest version and is backwards compatbile with the intial HDMI version. Well.."should be" at least

However, for people running HDMI through receivers and to TVs, this dasiy chaining of HDMI-devices has found not to work 100% of the time.

There is a website that lists down what receivers, TVs, video components can properly communicate when daisy chaining with HDMIs.
