My ps3 is broke, with an expired warranty, and i have no receipt?

Is there anyway i can go to a retail store and buy the same ps3, and return my broken ps3 in the new ps3's place?






could i swap the serial numbers?


Also the serial number is on the box to, do you think walmart always opens the boxs and checks the ps3 serial number?
 
Do you mind telling me the problem, Is it broke as in smashed up and dead? Or is it something like your Discs not reading, Or not turning on or something?
