My PS3 is alot laggier now since i bought a new TV?

I recently had about a 32 inch vizio that i used on 720p, i jus bought a new 50 inch vizio that i now use on 1080p and i STILL use the same hdmi cable that i used on the last tv. Now i play cod black ops and its so laggy, its just unbelievable. anyone know what the problem might be??
