my ps2 starts making a weird noise?

i have NBA street V3 its scratched real bad but none of them are deep. I've tried the toothpaste and cd cleaners. None work. When the game gets to the load screen once it has 5 stars the disc starts to spin slower than usual and the game freezes. All of my other games work.

Help Plz. I really love this game.

Dont say buy a new one :)
