Basically I own a 13.2hh connemara, he is chubby, and yes I am working on his weight. Even when he is at his proper weight, his saddle will still come on to his shoulder because of the shape of his back. I've had the saddler out to come and see what he can do, and he has added a girth strap and changed the size and some other stuff, but I was wondering if there's anything that we haven't tried that could help? I'm getting him an anti slip pad / or a crouper. I was also looking at western saddles, would it be better to buy a western saddle and it not slip forward? Im not sure so any help would be appreciated!
