My Pleco has frayed fins, and cotton like fluffs ? FISH HELP!11 ARHHHHHHHHH!?

I know a little about fish already, but I need reassurance really.

I have a 215 litre tank.

I have two plecoes and many other community fish. I first decided to treat the one pleco, giving it two meth baths, on two seperate days. The reason I did this was because he had a yellow like fungus on its mouth.

He was hard to catch and I think this stressed him out even more. At the same time, I was treating the whole tank for white spot as one of my angels had it.

When putting the pleco back into the main tank, the other pleco started chasing it. I woke up this morning and the pleco now has frazzled/frayed like fins; just the back fin.

I have decided to treat the whole tank with pimafix, not that I wanted to because it's very expensive. If I had the choose, I would transfer the pleco to my 35 litre tank, but unfortunately it's not fully cycled.

The pimafix is to treat the fungus that is still on the pleco. It appears to of got a couple more little cotton fluffs around the body. I just don't know what to treat the fin rot with ?

any ideas ?

I don't want my tank to just become a sess pit of medication, and if it's the other pleco causing the fin rot then it won't resolve the problem anyway.

Your fish may have a fungus thing. This is common and can be treated. I recommend any anti-fungus treatment and aquarium tonic salt is useful to make sure it wont happen again. Go to see your nearest pet store and show them a picture of your fish. They will give you something.


Fin rot can be treated with the same things. API aqwuarium salt will help! If you have a pets at home store near you visit them with a picture of your fish.
