My experience is no - even though they both use CDMA, Verizon wants only Verizon phones. Also, just connecting a "new" phone will be very expensive. That $100 insurance plan actually works out because the alternative is to spend even more by going outside of Verizon to replace your phone. If you're just a month short of an upgrade, I'd suggest soldiering on w/o a phone or getting a pay-as-you phone.
