my philips stereo Fw 555 stopped recieving remote signals?

Ive been using this stereo for about 3 years and suddenly the remote stopped working on the radio, every time I hit a button the light on the screen comes on and I can turn on the radio using the remote but nothing else works. I've tried other remotes but none work , has anyone had a simular problem or know what I can do to fix it? thanks
