My Philips Magnavox is on Automatic Sleep?

Every time I turn on the TV the sleep timer is on and it shuts off after a few seconds. The remote disconnected from the TV so I can't use that to change it. I can't even use it because I can't get the sleep timer off and there is no menu button. It is not a new TV. I unplugged it from the wall but that doesn't reset it. Why won't the sleep go away. Pleaasseee help. I don't want to have to get rid of it because of this.
 
My tv has four buttons on the front. Two for volume and two to change channels. When I hit both volume buttons at the same time, sometimes takes couple of tries, it gets me into the menu. Then use the channel buttons to navigate the menu.
