A little information first: I have a 32" Sanyo flat screen. My computer is a custom built media center (Win7), with an integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics card. Considering my TV only supports up to 1280x768... I've seen no need to upgrade.
Up until yesterday, my TV was displaying at 1280x768 in wide screen. All was well. Then someone hit the "Reset" button on the TV remote. Somehow this changed the resolution on my computer too, because it was set all the way down to 800x600. I thought that was weird, but just set the resolution back up. It's back up to 1280x768, but it's box screen now!
I can't stand this. I've looked through the TV menu over and over again. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the display from there. I can adjust H and V position, but that's it. It's not a problem with the computer, because it displays fine if I hook it up to one of my wide screen monitors. I've tried hitting the reset button again, and it doesn't change anything.
I'm stumped. Any ideas?
If I get this thing working right again... I'm going to forcefully remove that reset button from my remote.
