Hiya. I am 16 years old, soon to be 17 in July. I am in 6th form and studying for my AS exams. I did really well in my GCSE's and got top in my year. I am an average girl with what is said to be a 'normal' life. I have been with my boyfriend since June 2009, so a year and 9 months. I am the oldest child in my family with two younger brothers, one is 12 and one is 8.
Ever since i turned about 14, like any other girl, i have started wanting to go out and do what i want with my friends. However, my parents have been restricting that. For example, after about 7 months of going out with my boyfriend my parents still refused to let me sleep round his house because they thought it was 'unsuitable' (both my parents have known my boyfriend for over 4 years which confuses me even more!) they have only just let me sleep round his house but still take alot of convincing when i ask.
They never let me go out to any parties unless it is at a resturant where they know exactly where i will be, im never allowed to go round someone's house, probably because they think there will be alcohol. But as a teenager, everyone drinks alcohol, im not the kind of girl to get absolutely smashed because i dont see the appeal but everyone drinks once in a while for a laugh or whatever.
Also, recently i asked if i could go to V festival with my boyfriend and his brother for the weekend, surprise surprise they aren't letting me go! I don't understand why not, everyone my age seems to be going and i just dont understand why my parents are so different and wont let me live my own life. I feel restricted and that i am being left behind and its making me constantly down. I feel like i need my own life back, i only live once and i would like to make it the best life i can but i can't with my parents there. I love them to pieces but i am feeling like i cant cope with it anymore. What shall i do???
