I'm in my 2nd year of college and this semester I met a girl that I really like and want to "officially" make her my girlfriend. The only problem is my parents disapprove of her because she's black. I'm from a city in TN that my father is the mayor of and he says I shouldn't date her because it will give our family a "bad reputation". I know I'm grown and old enough to make my own decisions and I plan on dating her regardless of what they say...It would just make me feel better if they approved, but how can I convince them?
My parents don't respect/accept my decisions...?
