i have a 20 gallon tank with 2 algea fish nd 2 oranda nd some other goldfish,,,i have recently noticed that my algea fish killed my oranda and is chasing the others as well,,,plz can some one tell me wats wrong with my fish

Large algae eaters can get quite aggressive , when they are small they are content to eat algae , but as they grow they become meat eaters. The previous poster is right.

If those "algae fish" were Chinese Algae Eaters, then what they were doing was entirely natural and is one of the #1 reasons they shouldn't be kept with Goldfish. Even Plecos can act this way once they've got a taste for Goldfish slime-coat. Goldfish need Goldfish-only tanks.

Rehome the "algae fish". Chinese Algae Eaters in particular can get over 8" long, and often once they hit 4" they turn off greens entirely and will become quite predatory. There are also some species of Pleco that are not herbivorous and lead a carnivorous lifestyle!

Nothing's "wrong" with them; it's just a bad mix of fish! Algae eaters are known to be aggressive, and they're not recommended in a tank of passive fish like orandas or goldfish.

If you want to have goldfish, try a plecostomus or snail next time instead of the classic algae eaters.

Good luck!
