hi i had a nokia e61i it was a great phone this friday i got it stolen at gun point nothing crazy thank god so now im wondering what phone to get should i get another one or should i up grade to a nokia n95 or a n82 or sony ericsson p1i but i got so used to a full qwerty keyword and im confused please advice thank you

It really depends what you need. In my opinion, the E61 is still the best QWERTY phone out there. Right now I'm using the E51 which is the best business class phone ever, but it doesn't have a QWERTY so it won't be for you if you need that. The N95 or N82 are different devices, they are focused on high end multimedia, with very high cameras, the N-series enhanced gallery, auto-focus, etc. They are also more expensive.

Yeah I Really Like The E51 Copper Color Whats Your Opinion On It And Im Really Having Trouble Deciding I Know N Series Are More Multimedia And More Expensive. Im Willing To Upgrade But Seems Like The N95 Its Gonna Be Out Maybe Next Year With The N96 Coming Up And N95 8gb And N82 Its A Great Looking Camera Phone But I Text And Use Email Alot So The N82 Seems To Be A Trouble For That With The Small Keys Thats Why Im Asking For Help

I've tried to like Windows Mobile. I've used several WM-based mobiles and given it a pretty fair shot, spending more that a month with each one, and in the case of a WM Treo 3 months. And it was always a bad experience. I've never met a WM device that didn't hang/freeze or crash. Some far less than others, but man, a mobile locking up and not notifying the user is awful. Missed calls, late emails or texts. This is what throws me off from the SonyEricsson Experia X1 coming out (soon?). SE has gained the reputation for releasing new devices with poor/incomplete firmware, leaving early adopter screaming for fixes that take forever to arrive. The P990 is a perfect example. For a then-flagship mobile there were a ton of problems. YEARS of firmware updates never got it to the level it was supposed to attain in terms of consistent stability or functionality. I'm a former SE user that found something better: Nokia.

I'm also a big fan of Blackberrys. The Blackberry's multimedia capabilities are rudimentary at best, but as a communication device they are superb. Especially the QWERTY keyboard models like the Curve and 8800. Supposedly the 9000 series is coming out soon and will add big improvements to the multimedia capabilities of the platform. You might take a look at a Blackberry Curve. They can be had for around $250 used.

yeah i was thinking the same about windows devices their too slow have many bugs on their firmware. blackberry mmm not too much for me i see them every day like the iphone it got me tired. about the glock dont worry about that one is coming it was just hard to do much when ****ers pull up quick and get you from the back. that crap is that theirs not enough full qwerty phones with a good camera and flash and software. only the nokia e90 and its too damn expensive. thats why i was looking a n series but i always liike business phones since i work in a office.

Why not just buy the E61i again? The only realistic upgrade would be the E90 or the yet to be released E71. Glocks are troublesome with that stupid trigger safety. You'll shoot your foot off! I'm all about Sig, but think about perhaps a hammerless S&W for concealment. Back to the original topic........

lol shoot my foot off that will be funny thats a vacation paid lol might not be all that bad. well yeah e 90 its kool yeah e61i its awsome but i feel like nokia gave up on that phone not enough upgrade with the firmware and it got me mad that they are realsing the e71 with in the year with only few upgrades. they should focus on their phones little more. like the e61i sometimes it would slow down only 2gb max come on! no flash only one minute voice recording yeah you can buy a software but thats what u expect when you buy a nokia. but i did love the phone alot but i wanna see if their something better if not e61i again or a n series. and thank you all for the opinios even the glock one lol it makes things easier on what i want instead of rushing and buying anything and regret spending 400 plus bucks

I'm about to list a pristine E61i on the Buy/Sell forum, $325 shipped. If you really love this model you can find some for sale in great shape. The E71 is going to be an awesome device, but then you have to wait for it. Maybe buy a used E61i and re-sell it when the E71 drops.

I really love Nokias. I moved to Blackberrys and only picked up my Nokia phones to get them ready for sale. I wanted to make sure everything was in perfect order and the firmwares were all up to date so I started using them, one week each, and fell in love with s60 all over again. Now I'm thinking about selling my Blackberrys instead!

i agree s60 are great phones i used to be a motorola guy but company really f up and they going down the drain they lost their 2003 2004 2005 shine and samsung its taking over with more affordable phones and good quality and theirs no question nokia is in top on their game with their technology. but the future seems fun with htc coming hard too and blackberry are aiming at more people instead of just business. hopefully windows mobile make better things. but for now im really thinking about a nokia e51 or again a e61i and maybe get a N82 and give it a shot

The E51 is a fantastic phone, but the only thing that limits it for business is the lack of a QWERTY keyboard. But the size and shape are great, the screen is awesome, and it's an E-series so it's business feature-packed. I was just at the Nokia Flagship Store in NYC and I was drooling over the E51 phones, among others. I did take a look at the Vertu section on the 3rd floor, and while they're extremely well made, they are kind of simple. I suppose anyone who wants to berate his staff while stepping off his Gulfstream business jet would look good doing it on a Vertu, but otherwise they're a bit lean on the features.

yeah e51 looks fancy and yea the no qwerty makes me think alittle i was looking at the samsung i540 doesnt look bad although is windows i want a phone thats not so popular in the u.s cause i hate having a phone that everyone has like the recycled iphone and the good black berry curve its great but i hate seen the phone every day like 20 times lol. vertu thats some baller phone who wants a cristal screen with diamonds and al the crap with a price tag of 5000 or more

I agree whole-heartedly, but the other thing is that I can't think of any other cellular which offers better value for money. The E51 is an incredible package for ~US$300, and the one without the camera is estimated to be ~US$100 less.

Of course I purchased an external GPS receiver for ~US$120, because I prefer to have a slim handset most of the time, and I only use GPS when travelling overseas but, even still, the combined cost of ~US$420 is still excellent value for such a solidly built and reliable handset.

If you really need QWERTY, then you need to get the E61i now or wait for new offerings, but unless you respond to a lot of emails using your cellular, the T9 on the E51 works very well.
