My nightmare Advanced Motor Sports (AMS) experience

What's your beef with AMS?

All I am seeing is a dealership that went out of it's way to come to the aid of an individual, a Ducati owner who wanted his bike fixed (AND pocket some cash or get a new bike)and a new poster dogpiling onto one of the top dealerships in the U.S.

The exact reason AMS is one of the top dealerships in the U.S. is that they truly care about both the riders and the bikes. They have thousands of customers from all over the United States for a damn good reason...AMS is an outstanding family and they do not deserve this nearly libelous abuse.

I guess it's true, the internet will let ANYONE in.

Disgusted.

oneducs & hornetdriver,
chill. you guys are acting up as much as anyone else. i DON'T have a beef with AMS. just because i don't, nor do you, does not mean either of us have any clue as to what happened. given the story though, IF AMS really quoted the insurance company a value of $12-13K and then said they would give the OP $1200 for a trade, wouldn't you agree that there is a pretty big disparity there?

if you ignore everything else said, that is a pretty tell tale sign IF it is true.

notice i used the word "allegedly" in my post.

fyi, it's called objectivity.... give it a shot.

IF IT IS TRUE! You seem to have made your mind up that it is, I on the other hand believe it is hookey, hogwash, BS. How is that for objective?

i am in awe over this. as stated above the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, but in no way would i believe AMS would try to take advantage of any customer.

they told the insurance company that the bike is worth $12,000 once repaired like new. is that not believable? in its current damaged state i could agree it may only be worth $1200 as trade in b/c they would have to pay out of pocket to repair before selling.

$1000 is easily believable with 40 days of storage, delivery to alvarado, and the damage inspection. IMO i hate to pay $600 towards a storage fee, but they are a business not a parking lot so I can understand.

I have been a customer of the BMW/Ducati dealer in Plano for many years and after hearing about AMS quickly switched. It is night and day difference as far as how they treat their customers. Hell, they throw a FREE christmas party with food and beverages, even alcohol with no cost to you! I have never met a dealer (car or motorcycle) that has treated me so well, even if I'm just stopping by for a small $10 part.

While I wouldn't like the idea of my bag dragged onto a trailer, I can believe they were doing what they thought would be best for the customer.

All in all, they are an outstanding company IMO and will continue using them!

Hey Hornet Driver, you guys certainly have a lovefest going with AMS. You should offer testimonials for their advertising.
I also had a less than satisfactory experience with the Golden Boy and his staff at AMS. Hi Toni! I hate to bring this up again but I can't help myself. I won't go into all the details, because the whole saga would take up multiple pages and I want to save you the bandwidth. AMS tried to charge me for warranty work to fix a problem that ubermechanic Stuart misdiagnosed. When I wouldn't agree to their bill, they charged me $237.50 for a rear Pilot that didn't solve my vibration. Then Scott unceremoniously shoved my Monster out to the curb then they refused to help me load it in my truck. I was told they didn't have a ramp...at a BIKE SHOP! (of course some wiseacres on our board posted pics of the guys clowning around in the shop with a ramp in the background)
My bike was covered with greasy fingerprints and had several fresh scratches on the frame. The exhaust cans were scratched from one end to the other. I later found out they weren't even my cans but were pull-offs from somebody else's bike. I rode my bike with my wife following me to Rockwall Honda, where I bought a ramp and the nice folks there helped me load my bike for the ride home.
When I complained to Tony Munoz and Micheal Lock himself, Jeff responded with lies and slander. Mr. Lock continued to defend Jeff Nash in spite of the lengthy case logged with customer service. DNA apparently chooses to look the other way when a Nationally Recognized Dealer is involved in a customer dispute.
I ended up fixing my own bike and will do my own service from now on. Everybody told me to ditch the Duc and buy a Honda, but I love 'em too much to ever be without one.
