My new Plantronics Headset microphone is not working.?

Go into your control panel and see if you might have disabled it. if not try to configure it
thats somewhere in the control panel too
just type like mic in the search bar at the top
oh also try to restart your computer
 
I just bought the Plantronics audio headset 345. I plugged both cords into the appropriate jacks on my laptop but the computer won't pick up audio from the microphone. The headphone part works fine the microphone just isn't being recognized. I have Windows Vista and the device isn't even popping up on the recording devices tab in the control panel. Does anyone know what to do?
 
It could either be that the cable / jack is damaged or your audio settings have the mic muted. However, if it connects correctly, it should show a little bubble pop up in the corner. If that didn't happen, then I am sure the device is defective.
