My new Panasonic Viera tv is showing black and white please help!?

I just bought a new Panasonic Viera 50 inch tv and it's showing black and white when I put it on the component input. So if I try to plug my Wii into it it only views in black and white. I have called Best buy and they replaced the tv but it is still doing the same thing. I have also tried useing different devices to see if the cord for the Wii is broke but it does the same thing to everything i plug into it. Please use simple answere with small words because I'm not a very good with technoligy(I know very sad seeing that I am 20) but i just want to try to fix this without spending anymore money then I have to. Thanks.
 
Wrong on you can't connect composite (yellow) to component. You can but, you get a BLACK and WHITE picture! You plugged the yellow into the component green. You need to plug it in to a yellow input and hook the red and white up for audio. So simply put, you plugged the yellow into the green. That's why your picture is black and white!
 
Previous answer is perfect. But you need to tell us how you have your wii plugged into your tv, then we can advise.

You should have a cable with 5 leads. It's component, red/green/blue for video, then a red/black for audio. As he said, be sure the the same leads are connected from the wii into the tv. So one of the reds should come out of the red audio wii output and should go into the red audio input on the tv. Then rest will be color coded.

It sounds like you are using the yellow video, red/white audio COMPOSITE cables. So go get a component cable and hook it up correctly and you'll have color and sound.
