my new nokia n900 keeps turning it self off?

Right, i bought a Nokia n900 yesterday from carphone warehouse, and when you turn it on, it works just fine, but after a bit, the screen goes black and you wait for like 10seconds it turns it self on again. When it turns it self on, there is no nokia logo and it just takes you to your main screen, and all the apps get shut down.
